This piece is structured around two elements of South Indian classical music: Just intonation and a type of raga modulation known as „Grahabheda“.
Just intonation is a tunig system that differs quite drastically from the equal termperament intonation used in the western music.
Grahabheda is a highly skilfull method to produce new pitsches by shifting the modal center. Rafael Reina
