This piece is structured around two elements of South Indina classical music: Just intonation and a type of raga development that uses a sort microtonal „replacements“ caled ’sruti bhedam.
Sruti Bhedam is a highly skilful method to develop the raga by using notes that are not in the mela (the equivalent of our scale), provided that they are always 1/4 tone or less apart and a very systematic hierachy to several musical parameters is applied.
