Beschreibung
This work was written for Sabine Ambos, a German instrumental player who formerly perfor-med another work of mine dedicated to her, Ambos Toccata. I wrote the present work since Sabine shared with me the idea to give a concert in Frankfurt early in August 2019 and totally devoted to my solo recorder works. For this opportunity, she asked me to write a new work so as to give the premiere.
This work presents a heavy minimal trademark. The initial pattern is in fact dealt with this typi-cal musical style, through its continuous construction and break-up.
During the musical events, the harmonic field of the pattern changes moving to a new obscure and rough zone. Later on, it comes back to a similar initial zone but including slight changes, and ending with an ascending melodic line similar to a question.
The title refers to an old work of mine written many years ago for traverse flute. This work was titled „Thelema’s hot machine“. The title meaning refers to the necessary will power to arrive at the end of the work and, at the same time, to the vital intensity to convey the energy that the work should communicate.
