The STORNELLO is a simple and popular musical form with a love or satirical content, born and still practiced in the Tuscan region of Italy. It is a word taken from the STORNO (sturnus vulgaris), a bird similar to the blackbird that gathers in noisy and competitive flocks. Due to these characteristics, the musical „stor-nello“ was born in the Middle Ages.
Das STORNELLO ist eine einfache und beliebte in der Toscana entstandene Musikform mit einem liebevollen oder satirischen Inhalt. Die Bezeichnung ist abgeleitet von STORNO (Sturnus vulgaris), einem der Amsel ähnlichen Vogel, der sich in lauten und konkurrierenden Gruppen versammelt. Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaften entstand im Mittelalter das musikalische „Stornello“.
Leonello Capodaglio was born October 6, 1945 and resides in Lendinara, in the Venetian region of Italy. He studied in Venice with Gino Gorini (piano), Gi-an Francesco Malipiero and Ugo Amendola (composition), Franco Ferrara (conductor) Egida Giordani Sartori (harpsichord).
Having developed its activities as a pianist, composer, harpsichord soloist and conductor. He was Director of the National Conservatory of Music of Adria and director of various chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras. He has com-posed numerous times winners of national and international competition of composition, and is currently president or commissioner in numerous competiti-ons, including the prestigious „V. Bucchi“ in Rome.
He has the author of 356 opus numbers composed in tonal style, 249 of which were published by 42 editions in Italy, France, Belgique, Germany, Suisse, United kingdom, Usa and Canada. In addition, he can expose more than 300 perfor-mances of his music in Italy and in the world, with performances and television broadcasting, and varied discography.
The compositions the most remarkable are the lyric operas „Fornarina“, „Calliroe“, „Fanny“, three Oratorios, a Marian Cantata, Six Suites for orchestra and „La Beltà“ (The Beauty), a series of six concerts for soloist and orchestra. Non-marginal musicologist its activities with the wise man and conferences and with the discovery of fonocromatica technique used by Antonio Vivaldi. He has published ten volumes of poetry and prose.
